West Midlands Pension Fund appoints Independent Person ahead of LGPS governance reforms

West Midlands Pension Fund has appointed Mandy Kaur-Sadler as its Independent Person from May 2026, adding depth of experience to the Fund’s governance arrangements ahead of incoming changes to the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS).
The appointment reflects the Fund’s continued commitment to strong, transparent governance, and early action to welcome and embrace change in support of sound decision-making and good outcomes for members and employers.
Mandy is a Senior Trustee Director at Dalriada Trustees and brings significant experience from across the pensions sector, including the LGPS, and a strong understanding of governance in complex and highly regulated environments. She also has a strong connection to the West Midlands, bringing both professional expertise and regional insight to the role.
In the role, she will provide independent insight and challenge to support the Fund’s Pensions Committee across all aspects of investment, governance and pension administration. The role will strengthen the Committee’s approach as the regulatory landscape continues to evolve.
The appointment followed market engagement and a competitive selection process.

West Midlands Pension Fund is part of the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS) and provides pension benefits for eligible local government and associated employers across the West Midlands.
The Fund is administered by City of Wolverhampton Council, which acts as the LGPS administering authority and is responsible for managing the Fund in line with LGPS Regulations.
