Amanda is a Senior Professional Trustee. Her legal background gives her a strong governance and risk management skillset and an ability to solve testing problems. She has worked in a range of scenarios, including scheme mergers, innovative funding solutions (such as ABCs) and buy-ins/outs and has a particular focus on large distress cases, managing PPF entry and contentious issues. She is described by the Legal directories as ‘poised, fearless and astuteā€˜ and ‘very strong on the technical side and also very practical’.
Before joining Dalriada, Amanda was a pensions partner in a global law firm. She also spent three years in-house at the PPF in its early years, shaping its legal approach and gaining wide experience in pensions policy and insolvency/restructuring. After leaving, she continued to advise the PPF on some of its highest profile and most complex matters, including the PPF Levy, GMP Equalisation, the compensation cap litigation and restructuring and insolvency issues such as Uniq, Halcrow and BHS. Amanda also has significant experience of contentious issues ranging from Pensions Ombudsman disputes to appearing at the Court of Appeal and Court of Justice of the EU. Amanda has led on a number of significant projects and is well versed in bringing different specialists together to achieve positive member outcomes.
Amanda represented Great Britain at springboard diving (when she was younger!). These days, she enjoys music, cookery and playing football with her eight-year old twins (which often goes to penalties).
