Emer Maguire

Emer is an experienced pensions professional, having been involved in a range of consultancy and actuarial work since 2014. She is a Fellow of the Institute of Actuaries, having qualified as an actuary in 2018.

Emer provides secretarial support to a number of her ongoing clients. This includes producing meeting agendas, preparing and collating meeting papers and preparing minutes. Management of meeting actions is also key to the smooth running of pension schemes and again Emer provides this to a number of her appointments.

In her experience to date, Emer has built up expertise in assisting organisations in the UK Not for Profit sector with reviews of their pension options Such exercises involve regular interaction and consultation with clients to ensure such complex exercises run smoothly. Emer is also experienced with managing projects and liaising with clients to ensure delivery of the projects against important milestones.

Emer joined the business as a graduate in 2014, having graduated from Queen’s University with a First Class Honours degree in Actuarial Science and Risk Management. During her degree, Emer completed a 13 month placement with a well-known life and pensions company in Dublin.

Emer has experience of dealing with a wide range of defined benefit and defined contribution scheme issues and is the main point of a contact for many of her clients. Emer has the opportunity to enhance her technical abilities and develop core consulting competences on a daily basis whilst working in a challenging environment as part of a rapidly growing, innovative pension consulting firm.
