Keith is a professional trustee at Dalriada. Prior to joining Dalriada, Keith spent 15 years helping to build and then lead Grant Thornton’s national pensions advisory practice. He trained as a Chartered Accountant and was previously a partner in the restructuring practices at Ernst & Young LLP and RSM Robson Rhodes.
Keith has worked with trustee boards in many of the UK’s highest profile corporate restructurings and insolvencies. This has involved critical financial analysis, and leading negotiations for trustees with management and other financial stakeholders, including extensive liaison with The Pensions Regulator and the Pension Protection Fund.
Keith works in an inclusive and collaborative way with advisers to help integrate the management of covenant, investment and funding risk. His extensive experience of working with trustees and sponsors means he can understand and respond quickly to the impact on covenant of corporate transactions such as sales, corporate re-financings and restructurings.
Keith has used his financial analysis and negotiating skills to directly improve the security of member benefits for numerous defined benefit pension schemes, across a range of industries and scheme sizes, working with both trustees and sponsors across listed and private companies.
Keith chaired the Employer Covenant Working Group (now the Employee Covenant Practitioner Association) a nascent trade body aimed at developing industry best practice and the promotion of covenant advice, with the pensions industry including its Regulatory bodies and Government.
